Extec Industries Corporate Profile

Extec Industries was formed in 1987 with the aim of becoming the world leading manufacturer of mobile screening and crushing technology.

Initial production began in a small factory in Leicester, where some of the most experienced brains in the industry came together. The idea was to construct an integrated screening system that would combine true mobility with high productivity. This resulted in the revolutionary 5000S three way split integrated screening system - the worlds first with hydraulically operated integrated conveyors.

Extec has carried out continuous development of its mould breaking designs from the very start from the first 5000S the product range has evolved: Turbo, Robotrac, Turbotrac, Doublescreen , Mega-Bite, Impactor, C-12,S-5........E7.

Due to the success of the launch production was moved first to Brightside lane in Sheffield, and then as the business grew to larger premises in Wincobank, again in Sheffield. In 1993 a major production site was acquired in Swadlincote, which due to continued growth resulted in bespoke development of both factory and offices which were completed in Spring 1999 and then in 2004 an additional dedicated production facility of a further 250,000 sq ft was added.

In December 2002 3i, Europe's leading venture capital company, was unveiled as the principal backer in the £56m MBO of Extec Industries. This linkage of the financial resources of 3i, with the unprecedented industry experience of Extec Management, signified a massive development in the world of screening and crushing, and launched Extec into the premier league of construction equipment manufacturers.

From humble beginnings Extec has achieved its position today as the world's leading manufacturer of mobile screening and crushing equipment with astonishing sales growth. Sales have increased dramatically since Extec's foundation and are in line with Extec's avowed aim of becoming the world's No1. In April 2005 Extec were awarded the prestigious Queens award for Export. Recognition of Extec's success in developing long term markets.

Dealing with a demanding world market, EXTEC operate a truly international service. A key element of Extec's success has been its first class production facilities and it's ability to integrate bespoke solutions to meet local demands around the globe within the discipline of a production line environment.

Through massive investment and use of the latest technology, Extec has managed to increase production across the board. A major reason for successful growth has been the great store Extec has placed on.
